Trump and Biden square off on jobs — get things built (Trump) or re-regulate energy economy

Trump or Biden?  On jobs?  Which do you pick?

This is based on material  in the WSJ, Friday, July 17, 2020, The Campaign Finally Begins by Kimberly Strassel.

Trump plans ‘top-to-bottom’ overhaul of the federal environmental review process which stands in the way of nearly every infra-structure project in the country.  That would create millions of jobs, attract more business to American and make the USA more competitive.

Biden just  released his $2 TRILLION climate change plan, product of a task force co-chaired by Rep. Alexandrea Ocasio-Cortez.

Biden vows to outlaw all use of coal and natural gas to generate electricity within 15 years.  He will ban oil and gas production on federal land and offshore. He seeks ‘zero emissions’ cars.  Biden is promising to delete the jobs of millions of Americans — at a times of soaring unemployment.  A ban on offshore drilling alone would cost 200,000 jobs and damage regional economies.  Basic consumer choice would disappear for vehicles, dishwashers, even homes.

Biden wants to massively re-regulate the energy economy.  Trump said,  “We want to get things built.”

Aptos Psychologist:  Let people live their lives free from as much regulation as possible.Let people go back to work when and  as they choose.    Open the schools.  Start new charter schools — which have fewer regulations –  if  teachers in union jobs  don’t want to teach.  Social distancing  issues can be worked out.  Masks and the wearing of them for long periods of time is   problematic  both in terms of cleanliness and simple breathing.

What say you?  Weigh in on the conversation about jobs, Biden and Trump.

suicide of the unions?

Labor union supports illegal aliens arrested by  ICE in Mississippi.
They’ve lost their way.
They are SOOOOO Corrupt that they forgot who they represent.

AFL-CIO Union President Richard Trumka posted several tweets on Thursday in support of illegal aliens taking US jobs.

Rishard Trumka: We condemn these raids in the strongest possible terms and pledge our full support to @UFCW and the working people of Mississippi as they work to win justice for all those who were unfairly targeted.

Face it US workers, they’re just not into you.

Illegal alien labor has decimated the US meat packing industry.
The jobs that once provided for large families are now barely pay above minimum wage.

And the AFL-CIO supports this.

Salvadorans living in the U.S. are as American as apple pie? Learning English?

Are Salvadorans as American a apple pie? Have they assimilated? Learned English?

What’s the first thing to do when moving to a new country?  Learn the language? Yes.    So, how well have Salvadorans done — those who have moved to the U.S. –  in terms of learning English?

What do we know about Salvadorans living  here in the U.S.?  Roughly a third live in California, the majority in southern California with pockets in San Francisco, Oakland and other cities in northern CA.

Somewhat less than half  of Salvadorans (42%) have lived in the U.S. for more than 20  years.

Salvadorans are slow to learn English.  Two-thirds of Salvadorans living in the U.S. are “Spanish dominant”.  About a half are considered  ‘proficient’ in English. Only 3% are “English dominant”.

Salvadorans do not self-identify as “American”.  Only 12% of Salvadorans living in the U.S. identify as “American”.  In comparison, about  a quarter of all Hispanics  – which includes Salvadorans – (23%) self-identify as “American”.

Salvadorans get jobs at about the same rate as native born Americans.  And they marry at about the same rate.  They do have more out of wedlock children  — 44% of women age 15 to 44 who had a child in the last 12 months was born out of wedlock.

Roughly 60% of  immigrants from Central America are in the U.S. illegally and roughly 50%  are on some form of welfare.

Salvadorans living in the U.S.  are considerably less educated.  Only 8% of those age 25+ have a college education compared to 30 percent of native born Americans.  The ‘good news’ is that Salvadorans born in the U.S. achieve a 22% rate of college education.

comment by Aptos Psychologist Cameron Jackson:

Will all the thousands of Salvadorans actually be deported?  Commit a crime, get deported seems to be the current rule.

The best and the brightest – not? [how not to hire a teacher & how to hire]

Can you add? Do basic division? Pass these questions?

So – who becomes a teacher?  And what better way to hire teachers?

The current method:  Can you add?  Know  some  basic division? Then maybe you can become a teacher … Questions for wanna-be teachers ask for a bit of  basic addition and division.

Here’s some examples of typical questions.

Here’s a question from a recent test given to college students in Michigan planning to become teachers: “Which of the following is largest? a. 1/4, b. 3/5, c. 1/2, d. 9/20.” Another question: “A town planning committee must decide how to use a 115-acre piece of land. The committee sets aside 20 acres of the land for watershed protection and an additional 37.4 acres for recreation. How much of the land is set aside for watershed protection and recreation? a. 43.15 acres, b. 54.6 acres, c. 57.4 acres, d. 60.4 acres”.

The Arizona teacher certification test asks: “Janet can type 250 words in 5 minutes, what is her typing rate per minute? a. 50wpm, b. 66wpm, c. 55wpm, d. 45wpm.” The California Basic Educational Skills Test asks the test taker to find the verb in the following sentence: “The interior temperatures of even the coolest stars are measured in millions of degrees. a. Coolest, b. Of even, c. Are measured, d. In millions”. A CBEST math question is: “You purchase a car making a down payment of $3,000 and 6 monthly payments of $225. How much have you paid so far for the car? a. $3225, b. $4350, c. $5375, d. $6550, e. $6398.”

OK — So what’s a  better to hire teachers?  Hire teachers  based on the discipline — what they are competent in — what  they learned in college.  A degree in biology  required to teach biology.  The ‘how to be a teacher’  stuff be learned on the side.

USA moving in right direction? jobs? optimism?

jobs-and-a-listMore jobs? More optimism?  The prospect of more jobs — is  that causing more people to think that the USA is moving in the right direction?

Under Obama – for quite an extended period of time – roughly   70+ percent of  prospective voters  thought that the USA was going in the wrong direction.  Those figures have changed recently, i.e.,  how people in general  feel about the direction of the country.

More people are more optimistic.

One month into Trump’s administration and 42 percent think that USA is going in the right direction and 58 percent think  it’s still going in  the wrong direction.  That’s an important shift.

Nearly a majority of voters, 49 percent, approve of the job Donald Trump is doing as president, according to a Morning Consult poll.

“Thirty percent of registered voters strongly support President Trump, while 19 percent somewhat approve. Another thirty percent strongly disapprove, while 11 percent somewhat disapprove. Ten percent weren’t sure or had no opinion.”

While 42 percent said the country was on the right track, another 58 percent said it was on the wrong track.

Trump’s approval rating has increased quickly: Four days after assuming office, Gallup found Trump had an approval rating of 45 percent, the lowest since the outfit began polling.

The Morning Consult questioned 1,991 registered voters from Jan. 26 to Jan. 28 with a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.

jobs … make America great … The Yellow Rose of Texas?

Jobs.  Immigration. Make America Great. Sounds like The Yellow Rose of Texas ….? Yep.

Trump ran on many  issues — such as jobs  and keep America safe —  on which he is keeping his promises.

As the President, Trump decides which people  from which countries must stay out to keep America safe.

$800 BILLION jobs Stimulus wasted & ObamaCare harms Americans

shovel-ready-with-obama-and-shovelThe $800 BILLION Stimulus  money for ‘shovel ready’ jobs resulted in zero jobs.

Obama admitted that several years later.  There were no ‘shovel ready’ jobs that came from the $800 BILLION Obama spent. What a waste.

With all the economic woes of Obama’s first years in office Obama forgot jobs and instead he focused on ObamaCare.

And what came out  of ObamaCare?obama-care-harms-americans

Employers now hire more part time employees. People did not keep their doctors.  Premiums went up drastically — not down as promised.  Americans oppose ObamaCare — what Obama focused on during his first years in office.

So — by  forgetting about ‘shovel ready’ jobs and wasting 800 BILLION dollars and, instead,  focusing on ObamaCare which harms Americans  —  did Obama shoot himself in his foot?  Americans went to the ballot box and overwhelmingly rejected Obama’s policies.

Luke 14:26 speaks to jehadist suicide bombers? Young USA adults?

Luke 14:26 speaks to Jehadist suicide bombers?  And  to young USA adults?   Yep.

The sermon last Sunday  was on Luke 14:26.  Paraphrasing what was read,

you must:

‘hate your family & your own life…. sell all  your possessions …

sell
sell  everything and give it away
sell everything
sell everything you have
yard sale of all oissessuibs
yard sale

carry your cross  …and follow me…”

can't wait to get away
can’t wait to get away

[Large crowds were now traveling with Jesus, and He turned and said to them, 26“If anyone comes to Me anddoes not hate his father and mother and wife and childrenand brothers and sisters — yes, even his own life — he cannot be My disciple. 27And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.…]

What does Luke 14:26 have to do with jehadists?   We know  from the daily news that jehadists suicide bombers hate ….. They  their life and the lives of their families enough to kill.

jehadists
jehadists
jehadist kill
jehadist kill

For sure jehadists either have no possessions or are quite willing to sell or give away  all possessions as they take their own life and the lives of others.  And jehadists have ‘taken up their ‘cross’ to ‘follow’ their religious leader.

What about young USA adults?

What about the young Americans who  still live in their parent’s garage, don’t own a car and don’t want to buy stuff.

How about he young USA adults who graduated from college with $60 K debt and don’t have a job to pay off the dept?

college debt
college debt

Lots and lots of young USA adults supported the Democrat candidate that did not get the nomination — millions of young USA adults supported Bernie Sanders.

young USA adults
young USA adults for Bern

And why?  For one thing, college debt will be forgiven.  And for a second reason, the government will give all of them a “good job” doing some “green type” service to others which will “save the planet”

A lot of young American adults probably do hate living in their parent’s house at age 25.

crowded conditions

And many young USA adults  do sympathize with Bernie Sanders who was not able to get a job until he was age 40.

Bernie Sanders Didn’t Make a Paycheck Until He Turned 40

Some  young people wonder if they will ever have a job, much less a good paying job.

What about good schools for your children?  The civil rights issue of today is access to good schools. Public charter schools and private schools provide choice for parents.  Obama and the Democrats oppose charter schools — because the Democrats  support the teacher’s unions.

What about your  safety?  Are you safer? If you live in a large city like Chicago (where Obama will have his Library) you are 17 times more likely to be murdered if you are Black (there’s about an equal percent of whites and blacks in Chicago).  What about the young woman killed in San Francisco by an illegal who was deported five times.

After the last 8 years with   a Democrat as President, are our borders safer,  are there fewer  illegals, is there less danger of drugs?

Create jobs? Hire a Syrian and get him off welfare

Create jobs?    Hire a Syrian and get him off welfare. Maybe.

create jobs
create jobs — hire a Syrian & get him off welfare
Bill Clinton wants the U.S. to hire Syrian refugees to rebuild Detroit. Detroit has a housing problem.
price of houses in Detroit
price of houses in Detroit
That’s from a video made via the Clinton Global Initiative.
Hilary wants Bill in charge. And Hilary’s  goal is to re-locate to Detroit  almost as many Syrians as the population of Detroit.
About the Syrian migrant crisis Bill Clinton said:  “The truth is that the big loser in this over the long run is going to be Syria. This is an enormous opportunity for Americans,”

Detroit has 10,000 empty, structurally sound houses—10,000. And lot of jobs to be had repairing those houses. Detroit just came out of bankruptcy and the mayor’s trying to do an innovative sort of urban homesteading program there.

Many houses  need  repair in Detroit

But it just gives you an example of what could be done. And I think any of us who have ever had any personal experience with either Syrian Americans or Syrian refugees think it’s a pretty good deal.

Hillary Clinton has called for a 550 percent expansion to the importation of Syrian refugees.

Based on the minimum figures she has put forth thus far, a President Hillary Clinton could potentially import a population of refugees (620,000) that nearly equals thepopulation of Detroit (677,116)

Clinton did not mention the fact that, in the United States, 91.4 percent of recent refugees from the Middle East are on food stamps, and 68.3 percent are on cash welfare, according to data from the Office of Refugee Resettlement in the Department of Health and Human Services.
