Odd Bodkins: Gun running by USA

Eric Holder’s Fast & Furious gun running operation resulted in death of Agent Terry & hundreds of Mexicans. Holder refuses to turn over documents. Congress to vote on contempt charges.

The questions abound re Fast and Furious.
Who devised the plan?
Who is in the chain of command?
What did they hope to accomplish?
How did they expect to track weapons without gps devices?
Did anyone raise the question about how the weapons would be tracked?
Why were weapons abandoned at the scene of the crime?
Who authorized wire taps in this caper?
Who was tapped?
What did the taps reveal?
Which Justice Dept fund paid for all this?
Who authorized payment?
Why is any of this subject to executive privilege?

This simply does not make sense. It seems the guns were gone forever which was obvious from the beginning. So what’s the point. Politicians may be this stupid but the cops certainly aren’t. And since when do criminals leave weapons behind at the scene of the crime.

Firenze Sage: Obama cares? [Commerce Secretary Bryson]

Obama out of touch with Secretary of Commerce Bryson

Obama out of touch with his Commerce Secretary John Bryson.

On Monday morning, Washington awoke to learn that Commerce Secretary John Bryson had been involved in a series of auto accidents in southern California on Saturday evening, and cited with a felony hit-and-run by responding police. This news was of course shocking.

For several hours, the White House and the Commerce Department declined comment. In this vacuum, the rumors took a life of their own. Some speculated there was alcohol involved, despite initial police accounts that this was not the case. After official statements reported the cause of the accidents on seizures, the ire turned on that initial speculation, blaming the sardonic culture of Twitter.

Part of the blame surely lay at the feet of an inept White House communications operation, unable to provide the general public with any answers to the health and well-being of a cabinet secretary. This media stonewall continued in Press Secretary Jay Carney’s daily briefing.

In Carney’s first answer, we learned that President Obama had not spoken with Secretary Bryson. This seemed odd. A cabinet secretary is hospitalized following serious traffic incidents and a police citation and the president does not pick up the phone to check on his welfare?

Pressed for details, Carney continually directed questions to the Commerce Department. As if this matter had nothing to do with the White House. On the fifth question, Carney was asked: “So as the matter stands right now, is the Secretary healthy and fit to serve?” Carney referred the question to the Commerce Department.

Aptos Psychologist: The real Zimerman/ Travyon story the media did not touch

“Zimmerman never saw the cute little boy that the TV audience did. He saw a full-grown man, a druggy, a wannabe street fighter, the tattooed, gold-grilled, self-dubbed “No_Limit_Nigga.”

The real tragedy the thousands of blacks killed by blacks. Of 279,384 black murders victims between 1976 – 2011 2,62,621 are blacks killed by blacks.
_______________
from the American Spectator:

What the Media Choose Not to Know about Trayvon
By Jack Cashill

Unnerved by an unspoken mix of political bias and racial queasiness, the major media have chosen to know as little about Trayvon Martin as they know about Barack Obama.

As a case in point, consider this boy vs. man fable spun by the New York Times’ Charles Blow:

A boy’s blood had been spilled on a rain-soaked patch of grass behind a row of mustard-colored condominiums by a man who had pursued him against the advice of 911 dispatchers. That man carried a 9-millimeter handgun. The boy carried a bag of candy.

Blow was writing seven weeks after Trayvon’s death. He had no excuse for missing the actual story. Worse, since he is a writer for the Times, his reporting has helped set the media tone worldwide

The media’s willful ignorance was on display again this past week. In reporting this news of George Zimmerman’s return to jail, more than a few media outlets showed the dangerously deceptive image of Trayvon as 11-year-old cherub. They did so in the assumption that the narrative was still theirs to control. It is not. The blogs, which have been doing the real detective work on this case, have long since taken control away from them.

The sites I have found must useful are the Daily Caller and theconservativetreehouse.com. What follows is largely culled from those sites and their independent contributors. By probing Trayon’s background and parsing his social media chatter, they have put together a picture of a disturbed young man that begins to makes sense of the events that unfolded on that fateful rainy night of February 26. Firenze Sage: Trial by boredom [Roger Clemens’s criminal trial]

Roger Clemens's trial by boredom

The trial of Roger Clemens is in its fifth week — with Brian McNamee, the government’s star witness, now on the stand — and already, two jurors have been dismissed for falling asleep.

The first juror excused by the judge, Reggie Walton of United States District Court, was a 27-year-old chronically unemployed man who was let go last week. During juror questioning, he told prosecutors that he would “rather be asleep” than serve on the jury. In the end, he tried to do both but failed.

But another juror, a young woman who works as a cashier at a supermarket, failed to heed that warning. She nodded off on Monday — the day McNamee, Clemens’s former trainer, began his testimony — and was dismissed by Walton on Tuesday.

It was just last week that Walton scolded the prosecutors and the defense lawyers for asking too many unnecessary questions and boring the jurors so much that they had begun to discuss the case among themselves, which they were told not to do. He even threatened to put a time limit on the trial.

Firenze Sage: D.A. Janet DiFore, welfare cheat

District Attorney Janet DiFore accused of welfare fraud pulling strings for her housekeeper

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore pulled strings to get her family’s live-in housekeeper food stamps, cash assistance and Medicaid benefits, according to an internal report from the county’s Department of Social Services.

For the past year, Social Services has been probing how DiFiore’s housekeeper was suddenly approved for welfare benefits after having been previously denied three times for inconsistencies in her applications, The Post has learned.

“Okay we got to the bottom of this case. This was a political favor for Janet DiFiore’s maid. It is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE,” Dhyalma Vazquez, a county anti-fraud investigator, wrote in an internal e-mail.

Vazquez, who also chairs the Yonkers Independence Party, alleged in the e-mail to Department of Social Services Commissioner Kevin McGuire that DiFiore’s housekeeper, Jamaican immigrant Marina Buchanan, should never have received benefits.

Welfare fraud by the District Attorney

In a series of e-mails from June and July of last year, Vazquez claimed that DiFiore, a Republican-turned- Democrat, had Buchanan’s case file improperly re-opened after the Yonkers branch office denied benefits.

Buchanan, 58, was paid $200 a week in cash by DiFiore and got $315 a month in Social Security disability benefits, according to documents obtained by the Post.

Firenze Sage: TSA hires ex-Catholic priest pedophile Thomas Harkins

defrocked Catholic priest Thoma Harkins works for TSA

A Catholic priest who was defrocked in 2002 over sex abuse allegations has a new job…with the TSA.

CBS Philadelphia reports that Thomas Harkin, who worked at churches across southern New Jersey before being removed by the Diocese of Camden because he was found to have abused young girls, now has a job as a “Transportation Security Manager, Baggage” with the TSA at Philadelphia International Airport. And new allegations have been brought.

The station saw Harkin working as a checkpoint supervisor between terminals D and E at the airport even as a new lawsuit has been filled against him for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.

In April, it was found that the TSA gave Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport (the world’s busiest) license to hire “any workers needed” for the job due to a backlog of background checks. At the time, U.S. Rep. Paul Broun told Atlanta’s Channel 2, “You can’t put unsecured people or people that you haven’t checked in a secured environment.”

Firenze Sage: $15,000 soda pop [federal fine to school]

$15 K federal fine to school for soda bought after lunch makes no sense

Soda pop OK if bought before lunch but a huge federal fine if purchased after lunch. This makes no sense except harassment sense.

Davis High School has been fined $15,000 after they were caught selling soda pop during lunch hour, which is a violation of federal law.

The federally mandated law prohibits the sale of carbonated beverages after lunch is served. The program is an effort to help fight childhood obesity and to have young students make better food choices.

The mandate allows for carbonated beverages to be sold before lunch, but restricts students from buying lunch, then purchasing carbonated drinks afterward.

“Before lunch you can come and buy a carbonated beverage. You can take it into the cafeteria and eat your lunch, but you can’t first go buy school lunch then come out in the hallway and buy a drink,” said Davis High Principal Dee Burton.

Firenze Sage: Remember the Zodiac Killer [San Francisco Bay Area]

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

A CA judge was in bed with wife of the Zodiac killer? Really? Come on now.

It’s been 40 years in the making, but ex-California Highway Patrol Officer Lyndon Lafferty’s book about the man he believes is the Zodiac killer has been released.

Lafferty’s book — “The Zodiac Killer Cover-Up, AKA The Silenced Badge” — uses a pseudonym for his suspect, but in 442 pages, he lays out quite the case. The man who fatally shot or stabbed five people in the Bay Area in 1968 and 1969, and who sent nearly two dozen cryptic, taunting letters to The Chronicle and others until 1974, is a 91-year-old alcoholic living in Solano County, Lafferty writes.

Lafferty calls his suspect George Russell Tucker, and he told The Chronicle he didn’t use the man’s real name because of privacy and safety concerns. The 79-year-old ex-CHP officer maintains he encountered the man in Vallejo in 1970 and developed clues with the late Solano County sheriff’s Sgt. Leslie Lundblad, but that the case was squelched by power-brokers in the county — including a judge who was having an affair with the suspect’s wife.

_______________

If you kill 5 people do you get a pass because some judge is bedding Zodiac’s wife? This is a really dumb judge who plays rumpy pumpy with a serial killer’s wife. Or it’s just another conspiracy theory.

Firenze Sage: Cherokee cheater again [Elizabeth Warren]

Elizabeth Warren plagiarized recipes from expensive, French restaurant Le Pavilion and published them as passed down from her Cherokee relatives?

The credibility of Massachusetts Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren took another hit today as Boston radio talk show host Howie Carr released evidence that appears to confirm Ms. Warren may have plagiarized at least three of the five recipes she submitted to the 1984 Pow Wow Chow cookbook edited by her cousin Candy Rowsey.

Two of the possibly plagiarized recipes, said in the Pow Wow Chow cookbook to have been passed down through generations of Oklahoma Native American members of the Cherokee tribe, are described in a New York Times News Service story as originating at Le Pavilion, a fabulously expensive French restaurant in Manhattan. The dishes were said to be particular favorites of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Cole Porter.

crab & cognac in Elizabeth Warren's Cherokee recipe

The two recipes, “Cold Omelets with Crab Meat” and “Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing,” appear in an article titled “Cold Omelets with Crab Meat,” written by Pierre Franey of the New York Times News Service that was published in the August 22, 1979 edition of the Virgin Islands Daily News, a copy of which can be seen here.

Ms. Warren’s 1984 recipe for Crab with Tomato Mayonnaise Dressing is a word-for-word copy of Mr. Franey’s 1979 recipe.

Aptos Psychologist: A terrorist is a terrorist & deal with them the same whether caught in a Yemon cave or in CA

treat all terrorists alike -- whether captured in a cave or shopping mall

Tell Adam Smith and Justin Amash that they are ‘losing it’ to seek to remove the legal authority granted by Congress after 9/11 to fight terrorists on every front.

If you live in Adam Smith’s district it is easy to contact him. He is on Facebook so you can leave him a note there. Adam Smith’s FAX is 202 225-5893 and voice is 202 225-8901.

Smith and Amash have proposed an amendment to next year’s defense authorization bill that more or less revokes the legal authority granted by Congress to fight terrorists on every front.

Let’s not reward terrorists with better treatment for having the wits to get out of their caves and sneak in to America to blow up civilians in shopping malls. Whether discovered in a cave in Yemon or Time Square New York all terrorists must be dealt with through legally approved military methods.

Obama refuses to transfer terrorists to Gitmo. Obama gave the protections that criminals have — Miranda rights — to terrorists. Obama has treated terrorists as though they were common criminals.

Obama is wrong. Terrorists are terrorists and not simply criminals. And that’s why the military must have the freedom to use military methods to deal with terrorists.
