“Historically silenced”  groups at Amherst College  get special treatment.  Which groups?

Amherst College cares about “historically silenced” groups.  Thus, Amherst College in Massachusetts  added several “diversity seats” to their Student Senate.  These seats are reserved  for groups that have been “historically silenced.”

So, which groups should  now   receives special treatment?

Conservative student Ted Hertzberg applied for one of the seats as a member of a “historically silenced” groups.  He   cited the fact that only 2 out of 160 professors at the school are registered Republicans-.  However, he was rejected.

There were four  other  applicants for the “historically silenced”  seats— an international student, a gay student, a Latino student and an Asian students.  All four applicants were  accepted.
