Firenze Sage: Fire the IRS liars [Lois Lerner et al]

Fire IRS liars
Statistically speaking, the firing of a federal employee is a rare event. A Cato Institute study showed that in one year, just 1 in 5,000 non-defense, civilian federal employees was fired for cause. A widely cited analysisby USA Today found that in FY 2011, the federal government fired just 11,668 out of 2.1 million employees (excluding military and postal workers). That’s a “separation for cause” rate of 0.55 percent, roughly a fifth the rate in the private sector.
But fully 60 percent of federal employees fired were in their first two years on the job.

Firenze Sage: Disgrace [no help from 911]

911 no help

An Oregon woman was told by a 911 dispatcher that authorities wouldn’t be able be able to help her as her ex-boyfriend broke into her place because of budget cuts.

Oregon Public Radio reports that an unidentified woman called 911 during a weekend in August 2012 while Michael Bellah was breaking into her place. Her call was forwarded to Oregon State Police because of lay-offs at the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office only allows the department to be open Monday through Friday.

“Uh, I don’t have anybody to send out there,” the 911 dispatcher told the woman. “You know, obviously, if he comes inside the residence and assaults you, can you ask him to go away? Do you know if he’s intoxicated or anything?”  More information

UK Intelligence

MI5 asked Woolwich murder suspect Michael Adebolajo if he wanted to work for them about six months before the killing, a childhood friend has said.

Abu Nusaybah told BBC Newsnight his friend – one of two men arrested after Drummer Lee Rigby’s murder in south-east London on Wednesday – had rejected the approach from the security service.

The BBC could not obtain any confirmation from Whitehall sources.  More information

Firenze Sage: minister of hate and fans [congressmen]

Farrakhan
Farrakhan’s fans
During his speech, Farrakhan also made some anti-Semitic remarks, talking about what he called “Satanic Jews” and the “Synagogue of Satan” supposedly controlling major institutions.
Several groups have noted that Farrakhan has a history of anti-Semitism and anti-white remarks.
The church  is led by the head of the Detroit branch of the NAACP, Rev. Wendell Anthony. Anthony was at Friday’s speech as were U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, and Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson. Conyers and Watson nodded in agreement during some of Farrakhan’s remarks.

Firenze Sage: Another heretofore unknown investigation [IRS]

IRS targets conservative groups

IRS investigation of targeting conservatives  update:  In late March 2012, IRS deputy commissioner Steven Miller–who resigned his post as acting commissioner last week at President Obama’s request–directed senior technical advisor Nancy J. Marks to investigate allegations of political targeting of groups seeking tax exempt status, agency officials told congressional aides. Holly Paz, acting director of ruling and agreements, worked with Marks on the probe, and both traveled to Cincinnati to conduct interviews.

On May 3, 2012. Marks gave what IRS officials described as a “presentation” to Miller describing her findings. Marks said the investigation had found significant problems in the review process and a substantial bias against conservative group, Ahmad said.

No written findings were produced as a result, the aide said, and it does not appear the internal review led to any disciplinary actions against IRS employees.

Firenze Sage: the law is an ass, an idiot [parking tickets, torched cars]

More torched cars in Sweden get parking tickets

In Sweden  police don’t do anything to prevent cars from being torched by “youths”   Here’s  a hint, the “youths” aren’t named Erik or Gustav.  The parking regulations are strictly enforced.

So we have this absurd situation:

Early Wednesday, while documenting the destruction after a night of rioting in the Stockholm suburb of Alby, a reporter from Fria Tider observed a parking enforcement officer writing a ticket for a burnt-out Ford.

When questioned, the officer explained that the ticket was issued because the vehicle lacked a tag showing its time of arrival.

The fact that the vehicle had been effectively destroyed – its windshield smashed and the interior heavily damaged by fire – was irrelevant according to the meter maid, who asked Fria Tider’s photographer to destroy the photos he had taken.   more information

Firenze Sage: Poor Pussy [Riot punk group]

Pussy Riot Punk group

MOSCOW–A Russian court has denied parole to a member of the Pussy Riot punk group.

In its ruling Thursday, the court accepted a claim by prosecutors that Maria Alekhina had systematically disobeyed prison authorities and failed to repent for her crime, Russian media reported.

Alekhina went on a hunger strike Wednesday after being barred from the court hearing in Perm province, and she ordered her defense not to participate.

Band members Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Yekaterina Samutsevich gained worldwide notoriety last year when a Moscow court jailed them for two years for conducting a punk protest in Moscow’s main cathedral.   More Information
