Another big politico liar:   John Perez, California’s Assembly speaker,  lied about his educational background.  And this politico continued to lie about his educational achievements   until after he won his first election.

When Rep. Hilda  Solis inserted remarks in the Congressional Record praising Los Angeles  activist John  Pérez as “an asset to the labor movement,” she was recounting the life story  of a man who would later become California’s Assembly speaker.

“After graduating from the University  of California Berkeley, John began working on designing and organizing  education programs,” Solis, then a Los Angeles congresswoman and now U.S.  secretary of labor, wrote in 2004.

But the record is wrong: Pérez dropped out of UC Berkeley and  never returned.

For a decade, Pérez’s designation as a UC Berkeley graduate went unchallenged  in newspaper articles, biographies and public pronouncements – until after he  won his first Assembly race in 2008.

Since his election, Pérez has emerged as one of California’s most powerful  officials. He was elected Assembly speaker in 2009. As speaker, he is also an  ex-officio regent of the University of California.

There’s a short   window for clot breaking  when a person has experienced stroke symptoms.

Strokes caused by clots can, depending on your symptoms,  be managed with high doses of blood thinning medication.

So, learn how to screen for stroke like symptoms. 

Can the person smile, stick out their tongue, raise their arms above their head and hold them there a couple seconds?

Think of a one year old child who sees their parent. Young children will instinctively raise their arms to indicate they want to be picked up. And, with proper treatment, many or even all  of your  deficits from the stroke may disappear within hours.

Jobs threatened:  A new survey says Obamacare’s tax on medical device manufacturers has cost the industry about 33,000 jobs.

In a report this week, the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) said companies cut about 14,000 workers and decided not to hire about 19,000 workers because of the new tax on medical devices.

The report also said the 2.3 percent excise tax also forced three-quarters of respondents to defer or cancel capital projects, reduce investment in start-ups or defer raises for their employees.

The medical device tax is one of several taxes built into the Affordable Care Act to help pay for the reforms.

Mayor de Blasio and his security detail crossed a Brooklyn street against the light Friday on his way to his morning workout – just a day after his SUV blew through two stop signs and was speeding in Queens.

Exclusive video taken by The Post caught the mayor — dressed in a “Brooklyn” sweatshirt, slacks and sneakers — chatting on his cellphone as he sauntered across 11th Street on 6th Avenue in Park Slope, ignoring the orange hand on the traffic signal that clearly warns pedestrians not to cross.

With Medicaid in place,  there is no need to make payments for emergency room visits so thinks Obama. Guess what! Things don’t work out as Obama planned.  Lots of states did not sign up for an expansion of Medicaid.

The fourth Georgia hospital in two years is closing its doors due to severe financial difficulties caused by Obamacare’s payment cuts for emergency services.

The Lower Oconee Community Hospital is, for now, a critical access hospital in southeastern Georgia that holds 25 beds. The hospital is suffering from serious cash-flow problems, largely due to the area’s 23 percent uninsured population, and hopes to reopen as “some kind of urgent care center,” CEO Karen O’Neal said.

Many hospitals in the 25 states that rejected the Medicaid expansion are facing similar financial problems.

But the reality is more complicated. The federal government has historically made payments to hospitals to cover the cost of uninsured patients seeking free medical care in emergency rooms, as federal law mandates that hospitals must care for all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

Because the Affordable Care Act’s authors believed they’d forced all states to implement the Medicaid expansion, Obamacare vastly cut hospital payments, the Associated Press reports.

Im Works, an entertainment-industry advocate organization, recently launched an online petition asking California’s film and TV enthusiasts to lobby lawmakers to create greater incentives for production to stay within state borders.

While operating costs in California have grown more expensive over the past decade, other states and countries have established film tax credits in an effort to bring production to their territory.

From 2005 to 2013, California’s share of the one-hour TV series market declined from 64 percent to 28 percent, resulting in the loss of an estimated 8,500 jobs, the Film Works petition notes.

According to a report conducted by the San Francisco Film Commission, these job losses not only impact those who were formerly employed, but take a negative toll on the economy as a whole. The study found that every job lost in the film industry results in a loss of $112,000 in spending in the local economy.

And in the past 15 years, feature-film production in Los Angeles alone has declined almost 60 percent.

A Chinese con-woman created a “superhuman” alter ego.  She then claimed  that she possessed powers of invisibility in order to dupe her victims out of at least £12,000.

The 54-year-old fraudster, named only as Ms Yang, tricked two female lovers and one pensioner into believing she was actually “Mr Li”, a “superhuman” police officer who not only worked for both Interpol and the Chinese Ministry of Finance but was also able to make himself disappear.

The confidence trickster’s supernatural cover was blown last August when one victim discovered she had been sharing a bed not with Mr Li but with a convicted fraudster who was in fact a woman.

Ms Yang’s bizarre campaign of deception began in early 2013, according to the Beijing News. Short of cash, she allegedly faked documents in order to gain access to an internet forum for middle-aged singletons. There, Ms Yang posed as “Mr Li” – a senior Communist Party official who boasted physical attributes that are normally the reserve of Marvel superheroes.

Just days after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced an aggressive plan to prevent traffic deaths, CBS 2 cameras caught the driver of a car carrying the mayor violating a number of traffic laws.

As CBS 2′s Marcia Kramer reported Thursday, the mayor’s two-car caravan was seen speeding, blowing through stop signs, and violating other traffic laws. Kramer reported that if the driver of the lead car, which carried the mayor in its passenger seat, had been cited, he would have racked up enough points to get his license suspended.

When the mayor announced his 62-point safe streets initiative, which includes lowering the speed limit to 25 mph, he said, “We want the public to know that we are holding ourselves to this standard.”

  3. Clear Aptos Creek access to ocean which is plugged most of the time.
  4. Oppose the  proposed  Round-About at bottom of Cliff  Drive.
  5. Re-surface  Aptos area county  roads especially:   __________________
  6. Put in ramp metering to access  highway  #1 to reduce congestion.
  7. Keep Aptos rural & manage Safeway expansion in Aptos
  8. Start  a Job Resource Center at the  Aptos library or in a  nearby area.
  9. Call local talk radio & promote ideas for positive change in Aptos area.
