Reid said he thinks the country has to “work our way past” insurance-based health care during a Friday night appearance on Vegas PBS’ program “Nevada Week in Review.”

Bait & switch tactics:

“What we’ve done with ObamaCare is have a step in the right direction. But we’re far from having something (ObamaCare)  that’s going to work forever,” Reid said.

When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether Reid  meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said: “Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

In just about seven weeks, people will be able to start buying Obamacare-approved insurance plans through the new health care exchanges.

But already, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is predicting those plans, and the whole system of distributing them, will eventually be moot.

When Congress passed the health legislation plan that the President sought, they radically changed health care in the United States, and audaciously imposed a strong-armed federal government onto perhaps the most personal of all segments of American life. The Supreme Court subsequently failed to support the fundamental principle of limited government. Legal battles are still underway, and strong governors are doing their best for their constituents. But this president is not likely to do more than just talk and campaign about compromise; moreover, there is no need for him to worry about the next election. Even worse to contemplate, though, is that President Obama and the Democrats may actually have received a willing acceptance of the infantilization of the American people by their government, from voters who followed the siren call of bigger government and embraced a new culture of increasing dependence, regardless of the consequences.

Senator Barbara Boxer has sunstroke saying Thursday that wildfires like the fast-moving Silver Fire should be a wake-up call to the reality of climate change.

The Silver Fire near Banning grew to 14,000 acres Thursday. This  prompted additional mandatory evacuations. It was 20 percent contained as of Thursday evening.

A second wildfire near Wrightwood erupted Thursday around 10 pm.  This  prompted the  mandatory evacuation of roughly 75 homes.

“Warmer temperatures combined with long dry seasons have resulted in more severe wildfires, and it’s only going to get worse,” said Boxer, who toured the fire site with officials Thursday. “They will tell you, the wildfire season is starting earlier, it’s ending later.”

Boxer charges that climate change contributes  to what could become one of the worst California fire seasons in a century, with hotter, dryer and longer summers fueling the fires throughout the west.

Speaking to Republicans in Congress who doubt the existence or extent of climate change, Boxer said “open your eyes, breathe the air, see what’s going on. And get out of the fringe lane.”

In the past 50 years the most serious California wildfire seasons were 2003, 2007 and 2008, in terms of acreage burned. The report also notes that since the year 2000, almost 600,000 acres have burned each year, nearly double the number of the last 50 years.

Boxer claims that global warming is contributing to one of the worst fire seasons in a hundred years in the Golden State, but GOP Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, who represents Orange County, is calling her out.

 “I challenge Barbara Boxer to a debate on climate change, on global warming,” said Rohrabacher. “I challenge her to defend her positions, and not just call a bunch of names, not just try to scare the public into accepting her expansion of government power over our lives.”

 Weiner strikes out  again.  Anthony Weiner  takes heat for remarks that he recently  made.  At a rally, he referred to an opponent as “grandpa”.  TV cameras caught the exchange between 69-year-old Republican candidate George McDonald and the 48-year-old Democrat.

 Weiner touched McDonald’s chest in greeting.   In response, McDonald barked back,  “Don’t put your hands on me ever again.”

Weiner responded by telling McDonald he has “anger issues.”

When McDonald disagreed, Weiner said, “Yes, you do, Grandpa.”

Anthony Weiner’s popularity in the New York City mayoral race has tumbled since this week’s revelations of his recurring online sexting, with Christine Quinn now leading him 25 percent to 16 percent, an NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll showed Thursday.

His unfavorable ratings also soared to a personal worst — 55 percent of the registered Democratic voters who were surveyed. Democrats “seemed much more reluctant to give him a third chance,” Marist Poll director Lee Miringoff said.

The swing in the numbers between Weiner, who resigned from Congress because of the scandal, and Quinn, the City Council speaker, was a “dramatic” 14 percentage points. A June 26 WSJ-NBC-Marist survey put Weiner ahead of Quinn, 25 percent to 20 percent.

Weiner’s fading support was reflected Thursday in interviews with voters.

“Historically silenced”  groups at Amherst College  get special treatment.  Which groups?

Amherst College cares about “historically silenced” groups.  Thus, Amherst College in Massachusetts  added several “diversity seats” to their Student Senate.  These seats are reserved  for groups that have been “historically silenced.”

So, which groups should  now   receives special treatment?

Conservative student Ted Hertzberg applied for one of the seats as a member of a “historically silenced” groups.  He   cited the fact that only 2 out of 160 professors at the school are registered Republicans-.  However, he was rejected.

There were four  other  applicants for the “historically silenced”  seats— an international student, a gay student, a Latino student and an Asian students.  All four applicants were  accepted.

Kids don’t belong to their parents,  prof says.    

Concerning the Zimmerman acquittal in the Travon Martin slaying,   Tulane University political science professor Melissa Harris-Perry made headlines.

Prof wishes concerning her unborn child. She shared that she felt relief that the ultrasound showed she was carrying a girl and not a boy. She made the  public statement that,

We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents”  

The prof wish that  she did not have sons because of the Zimmerman verdict. “Last night, I thought, I live in a country that makes me wish my sons away. I wish that they don’t exist, because it’s not safe.”

No mermaids allowed wearing a silicon mermaid tail says leaders of a subdivision outside Tampa, Florida. A woman has been banned from swimming in her community’s pool because she wants to wear a blue, silicone mermaid tail.

Jenna Conti lives in a subdivision east of downtown Tampa, Florida. She has been in the community pool with her custom-made tail once before with the staff’s okay.

Conti, who calls herself Eden Sirene while in the water, has a custom-made silicon mermaid tail.

But last week, the community leaders told her it violated a policy against swim fins. On Monday night, the FishHawk Community Development board voted to keep her out of the pool because of the swim fin.

The IRS Scandal and that Obama knew is  just one reasons to get involved  in the 2014 elections. Don’t let what happened to the Tea Party and conservative groups happen again. This is  what we know about the IRS Scandal:  

The chief counsel for the IRS, William WILKINS,  is one of two appointees made by Obama. And of course Obama talked and talks to his appointees. 

Typical Obama tactics:  We know that Obama’s typical technique is to wipe out or eliminate the opposition. Obama did so in his elections to become a U.S. senator. Obama understands and uses Chicago style politics. So we can readily guess that Obama does  and did communicate to his appointee at the IRS what Obama wants:  muzzle the  conservative and Tea Party opposition by delaying their ability to get 501 c 4 tax exempt status.  So, did Obama know? Of course he did.

Obama’s appointee, the IRS chief counsel WILLIAM  WILKINS,  sought information about Tea Party and conservative groups. Obama  appointee   WILKINS specifically wanted “information about political activities leading up to the 2010 elections”.  This has come out  in testimony given before Congress.

What we know:   IRS employees Ms. HOFACRE  was so frustrated by the delay tactics that she asked for a transfer. HOFACRE  says it was like working in lost luggage as she  had to send specific cases up for review.   HOFFACRE’S supervisor  Carter HULL said that Lois LERNER told him to send the cases up. Whoops!  Another lie for Lois LERNER.

 Hull’s supervisor Ronald SHOEMAKER says Lois LERNER said to send them to the chief counsel WILLIAM WILKINS.

Overview:   Lois LERNER planted a question & lied about planting a question. LERNER  then blamed the Cincinnati office as being the only office involved. But other offices have been implemented and testimony given that cases were sent to Washington.   Then the defense was that the IRS was too badly managed to pull off a sophisticated conspiracy. Remember President Obama saying that he only heard about the IRS scandal from the evening news? Then the defense  shifted to say that progressive & liberal groups were also targeted.  But no progressive or liberal groups have come forward to say that they too got targeted by the IRS.

So what to do:  get involved. Request that Lois Lerner be given immunity so that she must testify under oath and “spill all the beans”

 Magic rabbit needs a license.  Marty Hahne, known as Marty the Magician in the southern Missouri area of the US.  He   performs magic:  he pulls a rabbit out of his“elusive bunny box,” or a hat, or a picnic basket, or even a tiny library, as the finale to his act. But the Agriculture Department of the Obama Administration decided that in order to do so, he needs  an official U.S. government license.  To get a license, Marty the Magician must   write a disaster plan for his bunny.

Peggy West needs to rest as clueless that Arizona shares a border with Mexico. Democrat, Peggy West of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, in calling for a boycott of Arizona because of its tough law on illegal immigration, noted:
