Civil disorder across America no big deal? Let’s put a huge Black Lives Matter mural in front of Santa Cruz CA City Hall …

Santa Cruz  CA recently  put a huge BLACK LIVES MATTER mural  in front of City Hall.  Not because there’s a large Black population.   About one percent +  of Santa Cruz County residents are Black.

For all to see, civil disorder abounds across America  in many  Democrat run cities. There has been a spike in crime across many cities.      Nightly news from Portland, Oregon shows rioters carrying signs Black Lives Matter as they burn, loot and throw bricks at the police. Clearly, “protesters” are violent thugs destroying property and hurting and killing people.

It depends on where you live and what’s your ethnicity whether civil disorder is or is not a BIG deal.    In a recent Mommouth poll 65% of respondents say “maintaining law and order” is a BIG problem.  So — 2 in 3 persons see law and order as a BIG problem.

Here’s the rub: Per the poll, whereas 46% of white non-Republicans see it as a problem more than 60% of non-Republican Blacks and other minorities agree that civil disorder has become a BIG deal.

Santa Cruz CA and nearby enviorns  is overwhelmingly  white in ethnicity.    Nearby Watsonville is predominantly Hispanic.  You will not find a Black Lives Matter sign on Main Street in Watsonville, CA.

There are 9 women running in the race for City Council in Santa Cruz, CA.  Take time to look at their platforms.  The need for more low cost housing is a central theme for many.   Best one can tell,   the issue of ‘law and order’  and civil disorder is not mentioned by any of the aspiring candidates for City Council in Santa Cruz, CA .  What universe do they reside in?

Now’s the  time to ask Santa Cruz candidates for City Council   about civil  disorder across America and their view of how to deal with crime, rioting, in-your-face screaming at police.

Below is what’s on the KSCO web site listed under NEWS concerning the forum:

SC CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES – FORUM
A  forum  is  scheduled  to  be  held  tomorrow  (via  zoom)  for  the  candidates   running  for  Santa  Cruz  City  Council.   Its designed  to  give  the  candidates  a  chance  to  speak  about  why  they  decided  to  run  for  city  council,  and  what  their  plans  are  for  economic  recovery.   The  Zoom  forum, which  is  free  and  open  to  the  public,   is  slated  to  be  held  from  6-8  p.m.
To  RSVP,  and  learn  about  the  program,  people  can  go  on-line  to:  rb.gy/zugssj

Who knows what that list of letters means  — Most Zoom meetings have an ID which is in numbers.

So — what does this HUGE  BLACK LIVES MATTER sign represent? Is civil disorder a BIG deal for Santa Cruz County  voters?

The post-Floyd protests put the progressive urban policing model to an unexpected real world test, which it has failed terribly.

What you see on the  TV news are “rioters” literally  in the face of Black cops screaming at them and showing NO FEAR of the police.

Democratic politics has been building towards this re-definition of law and order for the last 20 years.   Progressive propose “decriminalization” of crime and view crime as a behavioral problem and blame  the police function for incarceration rates.

Look at the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force released in July  — one month AFTER the protests, looting and urban shootings began in May.  You will not find the words “felony”, “homicides” or “gangs”.  The Biden-Sanders Unity Task force is about one thing:  how to reduce the role of the police.

What does the public see nightly across America?  An abrupt spike in urban crime and mob-like political protesters exploiting official restraints on police.  We see a raging progressive failure to maintain law and order in many Democrat run cities.

Fire & evacuations in Santa Cruz, CA — help even for cockroach pets?

Horses, cats and dogs are being  cared for in response to the  huge fires near Santa Cruz, CA.   We expect animals will be  cared for.

How about  pet cockroaches?   Yep — and the person caring for the pet cockroaches wants to know “What breed are they?’

Answer:   There’s 4K+  different kinds of cockroaches  but only a handful in the USA.

Check out Facebook  page for Alida Stevens for  the skinny on cockroach pets.

Alida Stevens just put up on Facebook some pictures showing  what’s happening to our Aptos CA  beaches laden with ash from the fire.

By the way, what the heck do you feed cockroach pets? Gotta keep those pets safe ’til they can get back to their owner.

Recall Santa Cruz City Councilmen Glover & Krohn? Remember Ross Encampment?

Recall  Santa Cruz City Councilmen  Glover & Krohn?  Remember the Ross encampment?    Remember the sight of hundreds of tents for many weeks located  at the  entrance to Santa Cruz?

Later, after they had to leave, remember the thousands of needles and tons of garbage that were  cleaned up?

Remember what thousands of drivers  saw week after week when  passing  by the  intersection of Highway #1 and Highway #9.

Remember.   Then consider  signing  the petition to remove both Krohn and Glover  from the Santa Cruz City Council.

Sanctuary Cities Santa Cruz & Watsonville: Why not follow federal laws which permit ICE to arrest at Local Jails rather than go find them at home, work & in community?

Sanctuary Cities Santa Cruz & Watsonville:  Why not follow federal laws on the books which permit federal authorities aka  ICE to arrest “bad dudes” in local jails rather than go find them in their homes, work place and community?  Santa Cruz has some of the highest rates of crime in California.

Let’s do what we can to reduce crime in Santa Cruz and Watsonville, California. Below is a link to a FOX news report on ICE activities.

https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=43a_1519325971

National Statistics on Recidivism — who gets arrested again and again

Bureau of Justice Statistics studies have found high rates of recidivism among released prisoners. One study tracked 404,638 prisoners in 30 states after their release from prison in 2005.[1] The researchers found that:

  • Within three years of release, about two-thirds (67.8 percent) of released prisoners were rearrested.
  • Within five years of release, about three-quarters (76.6 percent) of released prisoners were rearrested.
  • Of those prisoners who were rearrested, more than half (56.7 percent) were arrested by the end of the first year.

  • Property offenders were the most likely to be rearrested, with 82.1 percent of released property offenders arrested for a new crime compared with 76.9 percent of drug offenders, 73.6 percent of public order offenders and 71.3 percent of violent offenders.

It’s time that local Santa Cruz county  politicians set policies that save fragile resources.

Per the FOX interview (see above link), the top ICE official says that ICE can process 10 inmates in  in one 8 hour  shift.  Vastly more time and resources are required for ICE  to find the”bad dudes” who were released back on the streets.

Connect with data bases so it’s easier to capture the truly “bad dudes” committing horrific crimes across the USA.

Currently ICE has access to local law enforcement databases, organized by states, such as Arizona and Texas, and metropolitan regions, such as the greater Seattle, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. areas. In Arizona, AZLink, the database that experienced the most DHS searches during this period, pools together information from numerous law enforcement agencies across the state.

The person-power required  for ICE  find the “bad dudes” released back into the community  is huge.

ICE targets individuals known to be at certain places in Santa Cruz and Watsonville, CA.    By putting the work on ICE  go find them in the community  generates fears concerning  who else will be picked up.

Releasing “bad dudes” back on the streets puts Santa Cruz county at risk of more crime.

The known rate for re-offending is over  high. Over 50% will be arrested again within one year.  So — by releasing the “bad guys” back on the streets local Santa Cruz and Watsonville Sanctuary City policies are directly responsible for more crime in Santa Cruz, Watsonville and elsewhere in the county.

Aptos Psychologist:

Let’s hold our local Santa Cruz and Watsonville CA  politicians accountable.  Cooperate with ICE so that  the”bad dudes” — the really “bad dudes” — are put on ice and if appropriate deported. Let’s stop the revolving doors  at our local Santa Cruz and Watsonville  jails wherein those arrested are quickly put back on the streets.  What say you?

I.C.E. is nice? Santa Cruz & Watsonville CA say ‘NO” as they are Sanctuary Cities…

I.C.E. is nice?  Sanctuary Cities oppose  I.C.E &   include Watsonville, CA and Sana Cruz, CA

I.C.E. is nice?   Sanctuary Cities include Santa Cruz, CA and Watsonville, CA say ‘No” ….

In an March 15, 2017 article written by Joseph Geha for the East Bay Times, the chairman of the City of Fremont California’s Human Relations Commission, is quoted as saying: “There are strength in numbers. The more communities, the more cities that sign on to sanctuary city status, the more difficult it will be for the federal government government to do anything about it.”  [The Fremont city council passed its sanctuary resolution that day.]

A ‘sanctuary flash mob’ strategy does appear to be the progressive Democrats’ plan to overwhelm President Trump’s efforts to rein in sanctuary jurisdictions by  threatening cuts in  federal funding.

Since President Trump released his Executive Order, the trend has been a sharp increase in the number of sanctuary resolutions being passed across the country.  That trend slowed after US Attorney General Jeff Sessions began to also publicly warn that sanctuary jurisdictions’ might lose federal funds.

Some sanctuary cities then began to double down on their policies and file lawsuits claiming that the federal government can’t cut some or all the threatened funding.

Ultimately, the sanctuary battle will continue in the federal court system and likely be decided by one or more separate U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

remember Kate Steinley killed by 5 time deported felon

sanctuary-city-san-franciscoRemember Kate Steinley shot in the back and  killed   in the sanctuary city of San Francisco by  five time deported illegal felon Lopez, a Mexican natonal   with multiple  convictions?

The man who murdered  Kate Steinley  was released from  jail  by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department and not turned over to federal authorities.

A February 2017  poll shows that Trump has broad public support in his effort to crack down on sanctuary cities.

A recent Harvard-Harris Poll shows  that 80 percent  of voters say  that local authorities should comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come in contact with.

Cities that arrest illegal immigrants for crimes should be required to turn them over to federal authorities

Sanctuary cities receive $2.27 BILLION in federal programs.

A safety issue:   Trump re-framed the issue from a partisan battle to a duty owed to the American people: “When it comes to public safety, there is no place for politics; no Republicans, no Democrats, just citizens, and good citizens,” he said. “We want safe communities. We demand safe communities for everyone.” Voters will want to know why their mayor sides with the illegal alien killer over a victimized American family.

About 300 sanctuary city jurisdictions operate in the U.S. where state or local officials refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement officers and make it difficult for them to apprehend illegal aliens caught committing a crime.

Santa Cruz CA is a sanctuary city. Law enforcement officials in Santa Cruz claim that the community is safer by not reporting illegal immigrants to federal authorities. Recently 13 members of  M-13 gang were arrested in Santa Cruz by federal  authorities in cooperation with local authorities.

The Trump plan includes an expansion of the “287(g) program” — named for the section of federal immigration law that enables DHS to deputize state and local law-enforcement officers to enforce the laws as if they were federal immigration agents.

New jobs:   Trump’s plan calls for adding resources:  10,000  to federal enforcement (ICE)  and 5,000 Border Patrol persons.

The many freedoms Americans enjoy  are dependent upon laws which are enforced.  Let’s take good care of legal, honest immigrants and let’s crack down on felons such as the man who murdered Kate Steinley.  What say you?
